Hi folks,

I'm Santosh Sankar, a Founding Partner at Dynamo Ventures and I started VENTURE Fieldnotes to bring more practical resources and perspectives for emerging venture capitalists.

Since the founding of Dynamo, I have observed a lack of practical resources for emerging managers and scarce transparency around topics such as fundraising, administration, decision making, reserve management et al. Further, there's practically 0 sharing of best practices, inquisitive and informational conversations with LPs, or operational data to help VCs make better fund management decisions.

As a result, emerging VCs (myself included) have resorted to small groups in Slack, email, or text where I felt comfortable asking questions without judgement. A few topics my peers and I have recently discussed include the costs for an annual fund audit, the practicalities of forming SPVs, and the relationship between Net TVPI and DPI.

Now, after several years of withstanding a continued lack of resources for emerging VCs, I thought it was time to create what my peers and I think should exist both for ourselves and future investors.
